Tariff & Valuation Disclosure

Effective Date: February 14, 2026

1. Purpose of This Tariff & Disclosure

This document outlines the rules, rates, charges, valuation options, and service conditions governing transportation services provided by AMB Moving & Storage Inc. for interstate household goods shipments. This tariff is provided in compliance with applicable federal transportation regulations and is available to customers upon request.

2. Definition of Tariff

A tariff is the official document that lists a moving company’s rates, service terms, rules, and conditions. It serves as the governing reference for:

  • Pricing structure
  • Accessorial service fees
  • Service limitations
  • Liability coverage
  • Customer obligations

The tariff, along with your Estimate, Order for Service, and Bill of Lading, forms the complete contract for your move.

3. Rate Structure

Charges for moving services may be based on one or more of the following:

  • Shipment weight
  • Total volume
  • Distance between origin and destination
  • Services requested (packing, storage, specialty handling, etc.)
  • Access conditions (stairs, elevators, long carries, shuttles, etc.)

All applicable charges will be disclosed in your written estimate prior to booking.

4. Accessorial Charges

Additional services requested or required may result in extra charges, including but not limited to:

  • Packing or unpacking services
  • Storage services
  • Shuttle service (if large truck access is not available)
  • Long carry fees
  • Stair or elevator fees
  • Waiting time due to delays outside company control
  • Additional pickup or delivery stops

Customers will be notified when such services are necessary.

5. Binding vs Non-Binding Estimates

Binding Estimate

A binding estimate guarantees that the total cost will not exceed the written price, provided the shipment details remain unchanged.

Non-Binding Estimate

A non-binding estimate is an approximation. Final charges are based on actual weight, services, and conditions on moving day.

6. Valuation Coverage Options

Federal law requires moving companies to offer customers valuation protection options. Valuation is not insurance but determines the carrier’s maximum liability.

Option A — Released Value Protection (Basic Coverage)

  • Included at no additional cost
  • Carrier liability limited to $0.60 per pound per article

Option B — Full Value Protection (Recommended)

  • Additional cost applies
  • Carrier is liable for replacement, repair, or cash settlement for lost or damaged items, subject to policy limits and declared value.

Customers must select their preferred valuation option before pickup. Failure to select a valuation option defaults to Released Value Protection.

7. High-Value Items

Items valued over a specified amount per pound (as defined in your contract) must be declared in writing before shipment. Undeclared high-value items may have limited liability coverage.

Examples include:

  • Jewelry
  • Antiques
  • Artwork
  • Collectibles
  • Electronics
  • Designer furniture

8. Customer Packing vs Carrier Packing

Carrier liability may be limited for items packed by the customer. If AMB Moving & Storage Inc. performs packing services, liability is determined based on the valuation option selected.

9. Payment Terms

Payment requirements are stated in your written agreement. Deposits, final balances, and accepted payment methods must be satisfied according to contract terms before delivery completion.

10. Storage-in-Transit (SIT)

If storage is required during a move:

  • Storage fees will apply
  • Delivery may be delayed until release is scheduled
  • Additional handling charges may apply
  • Valuation coverage remains in effect during storage

11. Delivery Windows

Interstate delivery schedules are based on mileage, shipment size, route logistics, and federal regulations. Delivery dates are estimates unless specifically guaranteed in writing.

12. Service Limitations

We reserve the right to refuse shipment of items that are:

  • Hazardous
  • Illegal
  • Flammable
  • Perishable
  • Unsafe to transport

13. Claims Filing Procedure

To submit a claim for loss or damage:

  1. Submit written notice within the timeframe stated in your contract.
  2. Include supporting documentation and photos.
  3. Reference inventory line items.

Claims are processed according to federal regulations and the valuation option selected.

14. Governing Authority

Transportation services are governed by applicable United States federal transportation laws and regulations governing interstate household goods carriers.

15. Customer Acknowledgment

By booking services with AMB Moving & Storage Inc., the customer acknowledges:

  • Receipt of tariff information
